Texas football had quite a bit of monkey business over the past week and one Iowa State fan had the perfect sign to troll the Longhorns.

Heading into their road trip to Ames to face Iowa State, the Texas Longhorns were making the strangest headlines of the year — or the program was at least tangentially involved with a monkey allegedly biting a kid on Halloween.

In case you missed it, Texas special teams coach Jeff Banks’ girlfriend, a former stripper who performed under the name Pole Assassin, has a pet monkey (named Gia, who was a part of her act) that reportedly bit a trick-or-treater. Ms. Assassin refuted the details of the reports, including uploading a video of how far into the backyard the kid would’ve had to go to get bitten.

Needless to say, this was one of the wildest stories of the college football season (or decade).

And with that, of course, the Iowa State fans were going to have their fun with it. But one student in the front row of Jack Trice Stadium had the perfect troll job with a “Horns down” logo that featured a Pole Assassin-inspired twist.

Texas being mercilessly trolled by an Iowa State fan was, unfortunately, ended abruptly

We should be thankful that we got to see this ingenious Cyclones fan display his brilliant work when we did.

After he unveiled the sign trolling the Longhorns, the administration (or someone) told the student to put the sign away.

Thankfully, screenshots live forever, so we’ll always have our glorious look at what a perfect sign looks like at a college football game.

It wasn’t just the fans, though. Whoever was running the music in Ames also got in on the fun as they played “Brass Monkey” by the Beastie Boys in the stadium prior to kickoff.

Speaking of living forever, as well, suffice it to say that this probably isn’t the last that Texas is going to hear about the monkey-bite incident. That’s going to be the gift that keeps on giving for opposing fans.
