Nick Saban has built a remarkable dynasty with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Here’s just how impressive he’s been in Tuscaloosa.

It’s not a secret that Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban is one of the best coaches in college football history. He’s been phenomenal and has set the standard for modern college football with the way he recruits and assembles coaching staffs. Few head coaches in history are able to rival the legacy Saban will have on this sport.

Saban has been with Alabama since 2007 and, after leaving the Miami Dolphins for Tuscaloosa, has found a place where he can seemingly win with ease.

Just how many wins has Saban racked up over the years with the Crimson Tide?

Alabama Crimson Tide: Nick Saban’s coaching record while with Alabama

From 2007 up to now, Saban has won 177 games and lost just 24. Several of those losses actually came in Saban’s first season in Tuscaloosa as the Crimson Tide struggled to a 7-6 record (which the NCAA knocked down to a 2-6 record). But the Crimson Tide improved considerably from there.

Alabama went 12-2 in Saban’s second season, losing in the SEC Championship Game to Urban Meyer’s Florida Gators. The Crimson Tide went undefeated in 2009, which is one of two unblemished seasons for Saban, and Alabama won its first championship under Saban’s guidance.

From there, the rest is history.

In addition to 2009, Alabama also won national titles during the 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, and 2020 seasons. 2020 also happened to be the only other season during which Saban and the Crimson Tide did not lose a single game.
