The Carolina Panthers should be thrilled with the news they received about Christian McCaffrey and Sam Darnold.

While the Carolina Panthers have been stunningly inconsistent, they have shown some potential at times this season. With how the team just snapped a three-game losing streak one week ago and the injury news they’ve received about Christian McCaffrey and Sam Darnold, things might be looking up for Carolina.

The team announced on Saturday that both McCaffrey and Darnold could potentially play this weekend. According to the Panthers, McCaffrey has been activated while Darnold has cleared concussion protocol.

Darnold is still listed as questionable due to a shoulder injury, but still, there’s a chance that he might be able to go against the New England Patriots.

Panthers: Both Christian McCaffrey and Sam Darnold could potentially play in Week 9

This is huge news for Carolina’s offense. The Panthers thrived on the ground against Atlanta a week ago, rushing for a total of 203 yards, and so getting a running back as talented as McCaffrey back gives Carolina another dangerous rushing weapon.

In addition to that, while he hasn’t been great in recent weeks, Darnold has had some pretty impressive moments at times throughout the season up to this point. Early on in the year, Darnold had three games where he threw for at least 300 yards.

If he can get back to playing like that, then maybe this defense can be truly dangerous going forward.
