Should the Bills be concerned after loss to the Jaguars?

The odds on favorite to win the AFC championship, the Buffalo Bills are struggling right now

The Buffalo Bills overtook the Kansas City Chiefs as the odds favorite to win the AFC Championship two weeks ago. Now, they will likely see the defending AFC champions catching up.

In Week 9, the Buffalo Bills lost to the 1-6 Jacksonville Jaguars 9-6. The Bills offense, considered one of the best in the league, was dominated by the 25th defense in the league. Josh Allen was sacked four times and threw up two interceptions. Meanwhile, the Bills defense, considered the best defense in the league this season, allowed a Jacksonville Jaguars offense that lost Trevor Lawrence early in the game to score enough points to win.

This embarrassing loss comes just a week after the Bills played a close game against a bad Miami Dolphins team. The Bills looked indestructible through six weeks but now look to falling apart.

The Buffalo Bills have a tough stretch ahead of them

The Bills have already had their bye week, so there is no slowing down the rest of their schedule to regroup. Games against the Colts, Saints, Buccanneers, Panthers, and two against the Patriots will really test the Bills’ will to win this season. If the Bills fail to put it together, especially on offense, even their games against divisional rival New York Jets could be a stumbling block.

Thankfully for the Bills, the rest of the AFC is in shambles as well. The conference-leading Titans have lost Derrick Henry for the season. The Chiefs are playing like a bottom-five team. The Raiders are imploding. Even the Bengals just got manhandled by the Browns.

The Bills should not take this as an excuse to implode and not fix their mistakes, but it should help keep their front office and their competitive roster from getting too much in their head and making season-ending mistakes.
