Did the Browns fix their team by cutting Odell Beckham?
The Cleveland Browns recorded a dominant win over the Cincinnati Bengals and the team didn’t miss Odell Beckham Jr. whatsoever.
Odell who? That’s surely what Cleveland Browns supporters must be asking themselves right now. While countless headlines were made this week thanks to the beef between Odell Beckham Jr. and the team, that didn’t stop the Browns from looking outstanding on Sunday.
Going up against the Cincinnati Bengals, this one was expected to be a see-saw battle. Instead, Cleveland was dominant and recorded a 41-16 win. The offense looked fantastic, of course led by Mayfield.
Odell Beckham Jr. was not missed at all by the Cleveland Browns vs. Cincinnati
Who thought Cleveland would be able to record such a big win like this? Mayfield had a strong day for the Browns, throwing for 218 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, Nick Chubb led the way with his 137 yards and two scores.
For Mayfield specifically, this win had to feel great. Beckham’s dad put him on blast on Instagram earlier in the week, which really led to all of the off-the-field distractions. The elder Beckham made it seem like Mayfield is the reason why his son isn’t having a good year.
Things have gotten so bad in Cleveland for Beckham, the team will officially release him on Monday. He’ll now head to a new city and team after the experiment with the Browns could not have gone much worse.
Meanwhile for Mayfield and Cleveland, they’re now 5-4 on the year and in second place of the AFC North standings behind the Baltimore Ravens. While Beckham is a special talent, things just weren’t working with the Browns. Team chemistry wasn’t an issue whatsoever in the Sunday win. At the end of the day, it’s looking like parting ways with Beckham simply had to be done.
