Trevor Lawrence hurt, leaves game for Jaguars vs. Bills
No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence went down with an ankle injury against the Buffalo Bills and he’s questionable to return.
Hearts have no question dropped all over Jacksonville right now. In the showdown between the Jaguars and Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Trevor Lawrence went down with an ankle injury and he was clearly in plenty of discomfort.
Lawrence was able to gingerly walk off the field, but he’s in enough pain where he’s been removed from the game. Moments ago, the Jaguars announced that his return to the contest vs. Buffalo is questionable.
Trevor Lawrence suffered an ankle injury and had to be removed from the action
While it hasn’t been the rookie season thus far that fan were hoping to see out of Lawrence, he is the future for this team. The hope is that he can continue to improve throughout this season and help Jacksonville take a big step come 2022.
However, now all eyes will be on his injured ankle. On the play here, offensive lineman Walker Little backed into Lawrence and sent the QB to the turf. Lawrence tried putting weight on his ankle, but then immediately fell back down to the ground after that.
This tells you just how much pain he was in after Little stepped on him. With Lawrence getting looked at by team doctors, backup C.J. Beathard has stepped in at quarterback for Jacksonville. Right now, no one knows just how serious this ankle injury is for Lawrence.
With him being questionable to return, we could end up seeing him back in action sooner than later. Or, Jacksonville may choose to be a big cautious with Lawrence and not rush him back out onto the field too quickly. Either way, there’s plenty of worry right now on the first-year quarterback.
