Despite the Kansas City Chiefs taking down the Green Bay Packers, the offense sure looked quite Vanilla on Sunday.

Even after a win, Kansas City Chiefs fans still aren’t feeling that great about this team. While the Chiefs indeed took down the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, they did so in the least impressive fashion possible at 13-7.

In that victory, Patrick Mahomes and the offense looked outstanding on the opening drive, but things went downhill shortly after the touchdown pass to Travis Kelce. If you ask ESPN’s Ryan Clark, something just isn’t clicking for Mahomes right now and it’s concerning.

Patrick Mahomes continues to disappoint for Kansas City this season

To say the offense looked bad against the Packers would be an understatement. For Mahomes, he recorded a lowly 166 passing yards and a touchdown, completing 20-of-37 passes. That’s just not going to cut it against a good team.

Imagine if Aaron Rodgers would have been in action against Kansas City. There’s just no way 13 points would have been enough to get the job done. Jordan Love looked terrible himself, which opened the door for the Chiefs to record the six-point win.

With the win, Kansas City is now 5-4 on the season. However, they’re not looking like serious Super Bowl contenders at all right now. This is a completely different team than what everyone expected to see. Mahomes doesn’t look like himself either, which really has been shocking.

In order for the Chiefs to get to the playoffs and make noise, we’ve got to see the signal-caller play better. Plain and simple, Mahomes needs to step his game up for Andy Reid and Co. Otherwise, there’s no chance they’ll head to the Super Bowl for the third consecutive campaign.
