Chet Holmgren makes history in his Gonzaga debut
To say that Holmgren’s debut was historic is not hyperbole. According to ESPN Stats and Info, Holmgren is the first player in the last 25 seasons to record 10 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five blocks in his Division I debut.
The hype around the seven-foot center is legitimate, as if his first game was not proof enough.. Prior to the start of the season, Holmgren has the third-best odds of winning the Naismith College Player of the Year award, per WynnBet.
If you did not catch Holmgren’s debut, his second-ever game is going to be one of interest. On Saturday night, top-ranked Gonzaga takes on the No. 5 Texas Longhorns in what should be a tremendous game.
