3. The defense will limit Mike Davis to under 50 yards rushing
The Falcons offensive coaching staff will salivate while watching film of the Broncos running the ball all over the Cowboys last week. Javonte Williams carved Dallas’ defense up for 111 yards on just 17 carries.
Atlanta will hope that Mike Davis can replicate that feat. The problem for Davis is that he doesn’t have the explosive speed that Williams possesses. His lack of big-play capability is going to be a big boost for the Cowboys defense on Sunday.
The end result will see the Falcons desperately trying to force feed Davis carries early in the game before they give up and resort to the throw game. He’s not going to get anywhere near the century mark in the ground. The bold prediction here is that he finishes with less than 50 rushing yards during a completely ineffectual performance.
The Cowboys defense isn’t suddenly going to transform into a juggernaut this weekend, but they’re going to fix their problems against the run in a big way. Davis and the Falcons need to make alternate offensive plans if they want to leave Dallas with a victory.
