Hornets announcer has out-of-body experience after huge Miles Bridges dunk (Video)
Hornets play-by-play announcer Eric Collins went absolutely bonkers when Charlotte forward Miles Bridges skied for a huge dunk against Memphis.
Over the past few years, Charlotte Hornets play-by-play broadcaster Eric Collins has become a fan-favorite among NBA faithful. He’s always one to get excited at a great play and truly make a broadcast entertaining.
On Wednesday night as Charlotte went on the road to play the Grizzlies, though, Collins may have submitted his magnum opus.
Hornets forward Miles Bridges, known for his high-flying, was breaking down the floor when guard Terry Rozier lofted the ball up for his teammate. Bridges knew what to do with it from there as he skied for the huge alley-oop slam.
But as impressive as the dunk was, it was the announcer who stole the show on the play.
Hornets announcer loses his mind at Miles Bridges dunk
There are excited play-by-play calls, then there is what Hornets broadcaster Eric Collins did when Bridges slammed it home:
Oddly enough, that was by far Bridges’ best moment of the game as the leading candidate for Most Improved Player had just 10 points on 3-of-11 shooting, though he did add nine boards and six assists in the 10-point win for the Hornets.
But who cares about the stat-line. At least his dunk gave us the call of the millennium from Collins on the broadcast.
