4. Jonathan Cooper records two sacks against Jalen Hurts
The Broncos no longer had Von Miller on the squad following the trade with the Los Angeles Rams. He had already been out due to an ankle sprain suffered in Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns, but this was the first game without Miller on the roster. Denver had to face off against the Cowboys, and seemingly no one gave them a shot to put pressure on their NFC counterparts.
Jonathon Cooper had some thoughts.
In Dallas, Cooper was lighting quick rushing off the edge. Seriously, he flew right past left tackle Terence Steele, who was filling in for Tyron Smith, on numerous occasions in the game. Most importantly, the seventh-round rookie picked up two sacks and two hits on quarterback Dak Prescott.
But wait, thereās more. According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Cooper recorded five pressures on 35 pass rushes, and played 93-percent of Denverās defensive snaps on Sunday.
This season, Cooper tallied 15 combined tackles and five quarterback hits.
The Broncos are set to face an Eagles offensive line that is pretty stout, as they have given up 15 sacks on the year (10th-fewest in NFL). Even so, we say Cooper picks up an additional two sacks on Sunday against Philadelphia.
