Is Ben Roethlisberger vaccinated? Steelers quarterback out with COVID
Ben Roethlisberger was placed on the COVID list on Saturday night after testing positive and will miss the Steelers game on Sunday vs. the Lions.
Ben Roethlisberger is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Detroit Lions after the team announced he’s been placed on the Reserve/COVID list.
Roethlisberger revealed he’s fully vaccinated in an interview with the Dan Patrick Show and the Steelers have been one of the best in the NFL in terms of getting players vaccinated.
Ben Roethlisberger is vaccinated
The Steelers were the only team in the NFL without a player to go on the COVID list until Roethlisberger. The team was taking precautions all year, dating back to last season even, but no measure is 100 percent effective.
“Some of the vaccinated in my family, I think, have had it. It’s just — you can’t live in a bubble,” Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said Wednesday via the Post-Gazette. “I felt like we lived in a bubble last year, and it’s like, ‘Listen, we can’t keep doing that.’
“Now, I’m not going to go to a big, crowded place and just see what happens. I’m not going to take that chance. But no, I just try to live a normal life. And I don’t do much, anyway. I’m kind of home all the time.”
Steelers depth chart: Mason Rudolph will start with Ben Roethlisberger out
The Lions will see Mason Rudolph get the start with Roethlisberger out. Because Roethlisberger is vaccinated, as long as he has two negative tests next week, he will be eligible to return from the COVID list for the Nov. 21 game vs. the Los Angeles Chargers.
