6. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

The Fighting Irish have just been hovering around the conversation all season. Notre Dame is the guy at the party that might be standing in the corner but is well aware of the conversation that is going on.

Notre Dame isn’t going to get involved unless something crazy happens, but people should be well aware of where the Fighting Irish stand at this rendezvous. It was an impressive road win for Notre Dame as it went into Charlottesville and beat Virginia.

5. Oregon Ducks

The Ducks entered the week fifth in the AP rankings and likely leave the week fifth in them. Oregon’s ranked higher in the poll that matters to them but in regards to this one, it is still knocking on the door.

This could be the week they move into the four spot as Oklahoma was ranked fourth, but it will be interesting to see if the AP vaults Ohio State ahead of them. Perhaps it just finally lines up with the CFP and the Ducks move to three.
