Ole Miss football coach and former Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin picked the Vols to upset No. 1 Georgia during his appearance as the College GameDay guest picker.

Lane Kiffin served as the College GameDay guest picker this weekend with ESPN in Oxford for their game vs. Texas A&M.

Kiffin tried to get Katy Perry to reprise her iconic performance from 2014 when the Rebels upset Alabama, but he did just fine.

Among the biggest highlights of his appearance was Kiffin stoking the emotions of Tennessee football fans. Kiffin, the former Vols head coach who returned to Knoxville last month as the Rebels head coach caused quite the stir.

The reaction to Lane Kiffin picking Tennessee to upset Georgia

Georgia has looked unbeatable all season behind their historically-great defense and underrated offense and is a big favorite over the Vols. Tennessee hasn’t beaten their SEC East rivals since 2016 but if it happens today, credit Kiffin for being bold enough to say it was going to happen.

He’s a smart man. He knows he can curry a little favor with Vols fans who hate him and showed it by throwing several projectiles on the field during their game last month. If they lose, Vols fans won’t say they jinxed him. But if the Vols do win, maybe he can show his face in Knoxville without fear of having a mustard bottle thrown in his general vicinity.
