With the Oklahoma Sooners losing on the road to the Baylor Bears on Saturday afternoon, that means some other team now has the longest active winning streak in college football.

The Oklahoma Sooners saw their 17-game winning streak end with a tough road loss to the Baylor Bears on this college football Saturday.

Prior to their road defeat in Waco, the last time the Sooners lost came on Oct. 3, 2020, at Iowa State. After starting out the 2020 college season in a 1-2 (0-2) hole, the Sooners rattled off eight more wins to finish the year at 9-2. They would go on to win their first nine games of the 2021 campaign before finally stumbling in Waco to Dave Aranda’s on-the-rise Baylor football team.

With the Sooners losing for the first time in over a year, who has the longest active winning streak?

College football: Who has the longest active winning streak?

With Oklahoma taking the L on Saturday, the longest active winning streak now belongs to the Georgia Bulldogs. The Dawgs have won 13 games in a row dating to last season. Georgia has won its first nine games of the 2021 college season but faces its toughest challenge thus far on the road at Tennessee. Their last loss came over a year ago to rival Florida in Jacksonville.

Outside of Georgia, the only two other undefeated teams left this season are the Cincinnati Bearcats and the UTSA Roadrunners. Those two schools play at the Group of Five level. Interestingly enough, the last time Cincinnati lost a game came against Georgia in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. Cincinnati has only lost once over the last two years. What a run they have been on!

Georgia must step up big time if they want to avoid falling on the road to division rival Tennessee.
