Texas Longhorns message boards were calling for head coach Steve Sarkisian’s job after they trailed the Kansas Jayhawks huge on Saturday.

The Texas Longhorns’ season did not go as the fanbase had hoped. Just last week, they were handedly beaten by Iowa State. Yet, they had a favorable matchup against the 1-8 Kansas Jayhawks in Week 11. It should have been a sure-fire victory for head coach Steve Sarkisian’s team.

Instead, the Longhorns trailed the Jayhawks 35-14 at halftime on Saturday. Kansas scored 21 of their points off two fumbles by Texas and a pick-six thrown by Hudson Card. Let’s just say that the message boards were not too keen about the job done by Texas and Sarkisian.

Texas message boards were fuming as Longhorns trailed Jayhawks

If Texas does end up losing this game, this will be the first time the program had lost five consecutive games since 1956.

The tone was virtually set on the opening drive, as Kansas had a 13-play opening drive, culminating in a three-yard touchdown run by Devin Neal. On Texas’ first drive, quarterback Casey Thompson was sacked by Kyron Johnson and fumbled the ball. Kansas recovered and responded 10-plays later with an 11-yard touchdown pass from Jalon Daniels to Mason Fairchild.

Daniels completed 16-of-21 of his passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 23 yards and a touchdown on four carries, all at the expense of Texas’ defense.

If Texas fails to make a comeback in the second half, message board users will be apoplectic.
