By Ethan Lee
The Texas Longhorns are on upset alert as the Kansas Jayhawks have taken a commanding lead heading into halftime in Austin.
Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns aren’t having much fun in Austin right now as the Kansas Jayhawks are running into halftime with a huge lead over the home team.
The Jayhawks were able to jump out to a relatively quick lead over the Longhorns as the score sat at 14-0 in their favor after the first quarter. The Longhorns responded with two scores of their own in the second quarter to tie things up at 14-14, but then everything unraveled for Texas.
In the span of 85 seconds, Kansas scored three touchdowns. One on the end of a methodical drive that lasted over six minutes, another after a fumble which was recovered and set Kansas up at the Texas 23-yard line, and then a third in the form of a pick-six.
And now, at halftime, Kansas leads 35-14. The Longhorns and their fans should be very concerned with how quickly things have spiraled in this game.

Right now, Kansas is certainly in control. It’s impossible to argue otherwise.
This game is unfolding at an unreal pace.
Texas’ use of that “all gas, no brakes” phrase doesn’t look all that good right now.
Everything is bad for the Longhorns right now. This Texas team should be better than this, but the Longhorns are 4-5 and may not make a bowl this season.
Texas is on a four-game losing streak and the Longhorns have West Virginia and Kansas State up ahead. If the Longhorns do end up losing tonight, this season might be over.
Things really aren’t going well for Texas.
