Carlos Correa removes mention of Astros from Twitter bio

Free agent shortstop Carlos Correa does not have any mention of the Houston Astros on his Twitter bio.

The MLB offseason has begun, and baseball fans will be keeping an eye on where the top free agents will sign prior to the 2022 campaign. One player that is going to garner plenty of attention is shortstop Carlos Correa, who will be garnering plenty of attention from prospective teams.

After spending the entirety of his career with the Houston Astros, he is now looking to cash in on a huge contract.

Much like many free agents, Correa removed mention of his potentially former team from his Twitter biography.

This is basically standard procedure from free agent players, but it likely won’t ease the pain Astros fans are feeling.

Correa and the Astros negotiated a contract during spring training just before the start of the 2021 season, but they could not agree to a deal. Reportedly, the Astros offered Correa a six-year, $120 million deal, but Correa opted to play out the season instead.

This year, Correa slashed .279/.366/.485 while recording 26 home runs, 92 RBI, 104 runs and 155 hits. Not to mention that he won the first Gold Glove and Platinum glove of his career for his defensive performance in 2021. Oh, and he played a role in Houston making it to the World Series for the third time in five years.

After the season, Houston made one last-ditch effort to retain Correa with a five-year, $160 million contract offer. So far, Correa is exploring his options, with the New York Yankees reportedly in discussions with his agent.

However “Correa Watch” ends, Astros fans will always have the memories of Correa playing with the team.
