Philadelphia Eagles rookie DeVonta Smith is celebrating his birthday in a big way, as he caught two touchdowns in the first half.
Smith has emerged as a primary weapon for Jalen Hurts and the Eagles the last few weeks, serving as a beacon of hope for Philadelphia’s receiving corps.
On his 23rd birthday, Smith only added to his impressive rookie campaign with two early touchdowns against the Denver Broncos. Smith’s second touchdown catch was relatively easy compared to his first.

Hell, the rookie out of Alabama had plenty of time to think about his celebration while running right past the Broncos secondary.
DeVonta Smith celebration: Eagles in fight with Broncos
Smith’s first touchdown was far more impressive than his first, but the celebration didn’t necessarily match the play. DeVonta pulled a Randy Moss catch over former Alabama cornerback Patrick Surtain, Jr.

If anything, Smith was far too excited to think on the fly. Not only did he embarrass his college teammate, but he helped extend the Eagles’ impressive first half offensive output.
What did DeVonta Smith’s celebration mean?
The ‘Big Balls dance’, as it’s commonly known around the basketball world, is meant to signify taking, and making, a big shot in a large moment. In football, it’s Smith feeling himself, given he has two touchdowns on his own birthday.
Should DeVonta Smith have been flagged?
Given the NFL’s recent taunting flags, it wouldn’t have been a surprise to see Smith fined for his actions.
