It looks like Florida Gators head coach Dan Mullen knows he’s at a crossroads and that he can’t afford to have his team lose.
Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators have underperformed this season and it’s evident that Mullen knows his team can’t afford any miscues the rest of the year.
The embattled Florida football coach has drawn plenty of criticism for the way the Gators have struggled all season long and he’s aware that there are plenty of people who want to see him fired.
Mullen is on the hot seat because his team hasn’t been living up to the standards that have been set in Gainesville. Florida hasn’t looked like a championship-caliber team, which is what Mullen was supposed to build.
When asked if he feels like there’s pressure on him to win so that he could save his job, Mullen answered by explaining how that sort of pressure is always there in the SEC.
Dan Mullen asked if he feels like he's coaching for his job, notes in his 13 years as an SEC head coach that there is always pressure: "You're always expected to perform in this league."

Florida Gators head coach Dan Mullen knows he needs to win to save his job
When Mullen left the Mississippi State Bulldogs, he had to know how much scrutiny he’d be under in Gainesville. The Gators want to win national titles and that’s something they’ve accomplished in the past.
That’s where they want to be again. Given his reputation as a forward-thinking, offensive innovator and talent developer, many expected him to be able to get Florida to where it wanted to be. Unfortunately, the formula that Mullen followed at Mississippi State hasn’t had promising results in Gainesville. If he’s not careful, he’s going to be looking for a new job soon.
