The Los Angeles Rams are in full focus in the NFL this season with a high profile but LA is still a new home.

With big additions like Matthew Staford, Von Miller and most recently Odell Beckham Jr., the Los Angeles Rams are making big moves all around. They are one of the NFC’s brightest stars when it comes to teams.

At the same time, it’s also a franchise that’s trying to imprint itself in LA.

That’s because the Los Angeles market, though famously tough to consistently crack into with the NFL, hasn’t always been home for this franchise.

Have the Rams always been in LA?

The answer to that question is a bit convoluted but the short answer is no. The Rams were founded in Cleveland and resided there from 1936–42 and then 1944-45. After that season, the franchise then moved to Los Angeles from 1946-94.

At that point, the organization made the move from LA to St. Louis, where they stayed until 2015. In 2016, the move back to the huge market in California was made yet again.

Where were the LA Rams before?

As mentioned, the trajectory for the Rams franchise over the years has been starting in Cleveland, moving to LA, then moving to St. Louis, and then moving back to Los Angeles.

With the money that was put into the latest move, particularly with SoFi Stadium, the team’s new home, it’s hard to imagine they’ll be moving again, at least any time soon.
