Vince Young does not want Texas football fans to lose hope after another frustrating season.

The Texas football program might be 4-6 and in a complete tailspin, but legendary Longhorns quarterback Vince Young does not want the fanbase to lose hope.

Texas needs to win its final two Big 12 games to have any shot at achieving bowl eligibility. This is the first season of the Steve Sarkisian era in Austin. While things got off to a promising start, it pretty much hit the fan around Halloween when the special teams coordinator got into some monkey business. Fresh off an unthinkable loss to Kansas, Young has a message for Texas fans.

The Longhorns must beat West Virginia in Morgantown and Kansas State at home to get to 6-6.

Texas football: Vince Young has a positive message for downtrodden fanbase

Let’s be real. The Kansas loss was unfathomable. It didn’t help that Bijan Robinson’s sophomore season is over with and done after he dislocated his elbow vs. the Jayhawks. In Monday’s press conference, Sarkisian actually blamed his bad roster on the players his predecessor Tom Herman recruited. All the while, Texas is gearing up to be dog food once the finally Longhorns join the SEC.

This has to be rock bottom for the Texas football program. The Longhorns don’t lose at home to Kansas, but here we are. Sarkisian may be feeling the heat, but this is only his first year on the job. Young may have led the Longhorns to their most recent national championship back in 2005, but that is coming up on 20 years ago. He has faith in the program, but he is more patient than most.

Young may bleed burnt orange, but nobody is messing with Texas more than the Longhorns themselves these days.
