Corey Seager will be one of the biggest names hitting free agency this winter in baseball.

Corey Seager has spent his entire professional career in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization, but he plays the right position and is at the right age to potentially garner a massive contract from another ball club.

Though the Dodgers may want to re-sign him, there are plenty of reasons why other teams will want the two-time NL All-Star and 2020 World Series MVP to join their organization. 2022 will be Seager’s age-28 season and he should have plenty of great ball left in the tank. While he has had to deal with injuries the last few years, his clutch factor in the postseason is the ultimate attribute.

Here are five teams that make a ton of sense to sign Seager during his high-profile free agency.

Corey Seager free agency: 5 potential suitors for him entering 2022 season

Pick Analysis. Central. player. Scouting Report. NL. Chicago Cubs. 5. 9

The Chicago Cubs now have the money to take a big swing for Corey Seager

After undergoing a fire sale, the Chicago Cubs now have the financial flexibility to land a marquee player or two in free agency. Seager would become the face of the franchise if he were to join the Cubs. While still in his prime, he could put up monster numbers offensively playing at Wrigley Field. However, there are better options for him to win short-term and long-term over Chicago.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Detroit Tigers. 4. 63. AL. Central. player

If the Detroit Tigers don’t get Carlos Correa, maybe they can get Corey Seager?

The Detroit Tigers are approaching being relevant in their competitive life cycle. Adding a high-profile free agent will go a long way towards them making a charge in the weak AL Central. While Tigers skipper A.J. Hinch may covet his former Houston Astros star Carlos Correa, Seager would not be a bad second option for Detroit to pick up. The Tigers interest in Seager is very palpable.

Though the Cubs and the Tigers are interesting landing spots for Seager, these three are way more likely than Chicago or Detroit for him.
