Kevin Durant’s Twitter activity proves he’s fed up with Warriors breakup narrative

Kevin Durant has a matchup against the Warriors on Tuesday, his former team, and the Nets superstar’s activity on Twitter suggests a revenge game is coming.

While with the Golden State Warriors, Kevin Durant was nothing if not prolific. The superstar forward spent three seasons with the franchise, helping to lead them to two NBA Championships as he also captured a pair of NBA Finals MVPs as well. On Tuesday night, he faces his former team as he’s in the midst of his third season with the Brooklyn Nets.

Amid the Warriors’ hot start to the 2021-22 NBA season, though, a narrative has emerged that Golden State is starting to finally “win” the breakup with Durant. Now that Stephen Curry is healthy and with the impending return of Klay Thompson, the team is clearly in a great spot.

Leading into the high-profile matchup on Tuesday night, though, Durant himself is clearly not a fan of that narrative — at least according to what he’s up to on Twitter.

As people have been commenting on Twitter about the Warriors winning the breakup with Durant, the Nets forward has been liking tweets calling the story out for being, for lack of a better word, stupid.

Suffice it to say, we could see Kevin Durant take this out in a pseudo-revenge game against his former team.

Durant’s activity on social media — from burners, to arguments, to other instances — has long been monitored heavily. This is a more subdued approach than many of the other cases but it does show that the Nets superstar is well aware of the narrative that’s being formed.

And based on the tweets he’s liking, he’s also not a fan of it and might take that out on Golden State in Tuesday night’s matchup.
