2022 NFL Mock Draft: Houston Texans land Matt Corral
By Brad Weiss
Picks No. 11 through 14
The Atlanta Falcons have been up and down all season long, and it may be time for them to make a change at the quarterback spot. Matt Ryan is still a very capable signal-caller, but with pick No. 11 overall, the team may choose his successor in Malik Willis from Liberty.
Willis is a guy who big arm talent, but he has not played high-level college football during his time with the Flames. He may end up having the highest ceiling of any of the quarterbacks in this draft, and for Atlanta, it may be time to turn the page on Ryan.
The Miami Dolphins are another franchise that has a question mark at the quarterback position, and it will be interesting to see if Tua Tagovailoa is their go-to guy for the future. For now, the organization is saying that he is their franchise guy, so going offensive line at pick No. 12 may be the best idea.
Charles Cross from Mississippi State is one of the better offensive tackles in the country and would be an anchor for this Dolphins offensive line for years to come. We will see how the Tua stuff pans out, but no matter who is under center in 2022, they need help along the offensive line.
When it comes to the Minnesota Vikings, you never really know which team you are going to get weekly. Last weekend, they looked great against the Los Angeles Chargers, an AFC favorite to make a deep run in the playoffs.
Minnesota struck gold with Justin Jefferson in the first round two years ago, and they could find a gem in the secondary with Kaiir Elam from Florida. The Vikings have some real issues at the cornerback spot, and Elam is one of the more plug-and-play defensive players in this draft class.
The Denver Broncos got rid of a legend a few weeks back, as they traded away Von Miller to the Los Angeles Rams for a host of draft picks. With Miller gone, the Broncos may look to target an edge rusher in the first round next April, and Drake Jackson from USC is one of the best in this class.
Jackson is a freak of nature, and based on the draft process, he could end up being a top-10 pick. If he is not, and available at No. 14 overall, he is a guy who could come in and fill the void left by Miller immediately.
