Every NFL stadium ranked from worst to best
28. Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia Eagles)
This is another example of the field being a stadium’s biggest detractor. Now, I know I just complained about teams not having painted end zones, so I’m about to sound like a hypocrite who is impossible to please. While I appreciate the effort of the Eagles to add some color to the field, their midnight green end zones are hideous.
The midnight green clashes way too hard with the medium green colored field. Lincoln Financial Field does use grass, which I appreciate, but Temple University’s football team also uses the stadium, so by the end of the first quarter every Sunday, it looks like a mud bath for pigs.
The stadium was opened in 2003, and it was much needed. Veterans Stadium was falling apart and the Eagles needed a new home. The design on the stadium itself is solid. The open mezzanine gives it a rad look from the outside, and it seats nearly 70,000 people. If not for the ugly clash of the field and end zones, this one would be higher. Unfortunately, it’s just not aesthetically pleasing.
