27. FedEx Field (Washington Football Team)

Fun fact: this stadium almost had a different name because Dan Snyder was very adamant on not changing the team’s nickname. FedEx Field is… well it’s certainly a stadium. That’s about all I can say about it. It’s just sort of there. There’s nothing marvelous about it, it’s just really plain. Even the design of the whole thing is really basic- just a tall, round structure. Whoever designed it must have had plans later on in the evening.

I could copy and paste everything I just said about the exterior of the stadium and say the same thing about the interior. The end zones are somewhat good. I like the Washington Football Team font, I actually think it looks really good. Besides that, it’s just very basic. I’m sure it was great back in the day before all these new modern stadiums were conceived.

Compared to these newer stadiums, though, FedEx Field is just a dud. Nothing about it stands out. It’s what I picture appearing if I were to google “Basic stadium.” There’s just nothing there that is really exciting or catches the eye. Some stadiums are bad for what they are, this one is bad for what it isn’t.
