11. Randall McDaniel

Going back to the Minnesota Vikings, let’s talk about a man who has one of the greatest names in NFL history, Randall McDaniel. Now, I’m not going to tell him that his name is silly because I enjoy my spleen right where it currently sits, but my goodness, it’s fun to say.

Jokes aside, McDaniel was an iron man throughout his career. Out of all possible games he could have played in, he only missed two. That is astonishing reliability and durability for a man whose job was to throw other grown men out of his way so other grown men could run through the hole he just created. Plus, he has a touchdown reception on the only catch of his career, too- fat guy touchdowns forever.

The Vikings selected McDaniel in the first round of the 1989 NFL Draft, and he proved they made the correct pick. He made it to 12 Pro Bowls in his career, and was named an All-Pro seven times. He is a member of the 1990s All-Decade team and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2009. McDaniel is another one of the great lineman that seemed to be of increased surplus during the 1990s, and is one of the greatest Vikings of all time.
