It’s over for Dan Mullen in Gainesville, as Florida football fans want him fired after losing to Missouri in overtime.
The Florida football program has become an unmitigated disaster under head coach Dan Mullen.
Only a season ago, the Gators won the SEC East. Now, they have to beat in-state rival Florida State to have any shot of getting to a bowl game. That is because the Gators just lost in CoMo to Mizzou by allowing Eliah Drinkwitz’s team to win it on a two-point conversion in overtime. Florida has not beaten a Power Five opponent since beating lowly Vanderbilt well over a month ago.
At this point, there is no reason whatsoever for Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin to allow Mullen to coach another down for this football program he destroyed.
Fire Dan Mullen: Florida football fans ready for a change
Florida is a football program that should go 10-2 every year at the very least.
Dan Mullen's last win over a Power 5 opponent came against Vandy on Oct. 9. Since then Florida has lost to LSU, Georgia, South Carolina and now Missouri. pic.twitter.com/w3nuHlJ9Ng

Mullen looked at recruiting as a joke, and now the college football world has gotten the last laugh.
Potentially coaching for his job, Dan Mullen punted on fourth-and-inches, kicked a field goal on fourth-and-2, and willfully let the game go to OT instead of trying to move the ball 35 yards into FG position with over a minute left.

One of the worst in-game coaching jobs in Florida #Gators football history right there from Dan Mullen. Just astoundingly bad.

Dan Mullen suppressed Anthony Richardson and Dameon Pierce while flaunting Todd Grantham because he is smarter than everyone else. Hope the $12 million gets him a nice mirror.

He will be getting a $12 million buyout, as he begins his journey in the NFL on presumably Urban Meyer’s Jacksonville Jaguars staff.
That’s a shame for Dan Mullen.

SEND HIM OFF WITH GATOR CHOMPS. pic.twitter.com/ThfmNc8CxC
Sadly, Florida is the sixth best program in the SEC East right now, ahead of only Vanderbilt.

Prayers up for Dan Mullen who appears to be utterly devastated by his team’s loss to Mizzou. pic.twitter.com/DlHmbdXWt5

Florida should be contending for SEC Championships with so much talent in-state. The shame in it all is the two other traditional powers in the state are down. Florida State is rebuilding under Mike Norvell and Manny Diaz is seemingly one bad game away from getting fired down in Miami.
The Mullen era needs to be over before Thanksgiving, as his seat could not possibly get any hotter.
