The Mississippi State Bulldogs are looking pretty good right now and they just thrashed the Tennessee State Tigers. Where will the Bulldogs play their bowl game?

Where will one of college football’s weirdest teams end up this bowl season? That’s the question the Mississippi State Bulldogs and their fans are hoping to have answered as the college football bowl season inches closer and closer.

Most bowl projections are pretty all over the place on Mississippi State, which is fair because the Bulldogs have been a little all over the place all season long. Across many bowl projections, one fairly common destination for Leach’s team seems to be in Houston, Texas for the Texas Bowl.

Mississippi State bowl projections place Bulldogs playing in the Texas Bowl

In USA Today’sĀ most recent bowl projections, Mississippi State will be in the Texas Bowl taking on the West Virginia Mountaineers. According to CBS Sportsā€˜ latest projections, the Bulldogs will be playing the Kansas State Wildcats in Houston.

But, a lot of this will depend on how the SEC West shakes out.

If Mississippi State beats Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl, the Bulldogs could find themselves playing in a more prestigious game because of some crucial wins earlier this season. Should that happen, the Bulldogs might be in Tampa, Florida for the Outback Bowl against the Wisconsin Badgers on Jan. 1, 2022. That’s where ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura’s latest projections expect State to be.

The Bulldogs could end up elsewhere though.

If you ask ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Mississippi State will be in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 30 facing the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Of course, Sporting NewsĀ has Mississippi State facing the Houston Cougars in the upcoming Birmingham Bowl on Dec. 28. That’s not exactly the sort of destination the Bulldogs are hoping for, but it would be entertaining to see Houston’s Air Raid go up against Mississippi State’s.

Bulldog fans, buckle up, the Egg Bowl is almost here and it’ll be a huge determining factor in where your team plays its upcoming bowl game.
