Some Ohio State football legends reacted to the Buckeyes wiping the floor with the Michigan State Spartans early in the afternoon on Saturday.

In a matchup of two College Football Playoff hopefuls, the Ohio State football team is crushing Michigan State at home.

A loss for either team would signify the end of their playoff dreams. While Ohio State was a sizable favorite at home vs. the Spartans, nobody outside of Columbus expected them to be up 35-0 early into the second quarter. Not only are the Buckeyes poised to win this game, but wide receiver Chris Olave just broke a school record for the most career touchdown receptions.

Here is his record-setter vs. Michigan State on Saturday afternoon.

And here is his starting quarterback C.J. Stroud celebrating the big moment with him on the sidelines.

Ohio State football legends react to Buckeyes’ beatdown of Michigan State

Whether it was Cris Carter, Terry McLaurin or Jeff Okudah, they all recognize how this Big Ten East rivalry game is quickly becoming a laugher.

Legendary quarterbacks Dwayne Haskins and Justin Fields showered the program with praise for how dominant they looked early vs. the Spartans.

For Ohio State, the Buckeyes need to beat Michigan State as well as arch rival Michigan to ensure themselves of a trip to the Big Ten Championship game once again. Though they will be favored over whoever comes out of the Big Ten West in Indianapolis, Ohio State will need to win that game as well if they want to be one of the four teams that make it into the College Football Playoff.

Ohio State is peaking at the right time to potentially go on a national championship run.
