Middleweight boxer Hassan N’Dam stood no chance against hot prospect Zhanibek Alimkhanuly, but he gave it his all in a lopsided loss.

Hassan N’Dam might be the worst three-time world titlist in middleweight boxing history, but he has heart. It was on display on Saturday, Nov. 20, as he took an awful beating at the hands of undefeated prospect Zhanibek Alimkhanuly.

Alimkhanuly (11-0, 7 KOs) vs. N’Dam (38-6, 21 KOs) was a terrible mismatch the moment the fight was made for Top Rank’s Terence Crawford vs. Shawn Porter undercard, but N’Dam didn’t go easily. He took a relentless pounding from Alimkhanuly but only hit the canvas once and lasted five more rounds after.

Alimkhanuly was a blue-chip amateur from Kazakhstan who won gold at the amateur world championships and was a 2016 Olympian. N’Dam did win three middleweight titles, but they’re mostly interim belts that came against weak opposition.

N’Dam is 37 years old and is nine years Alimkhanuly’s senior. He was stopped in previous bouts against Ryota Murata and Callum Smith. It wasn’t hard to tell he wouldn’t go the distance with Alimkhanuly.

Hassan N’Dam may have shown too much pride as he pressed on for eight rounds despite being demolished by Zhanibek Alimkhanuly

Alimkhanuly knocked N’Dam down in round 3 with two uppercuts. Luckily for N’Dam, he was saved by the bell.

Shockingly, N’Dam continued and made it through several more rounds, despite being badly battered. N’Dam’s nose and mouth poured blood, and he was mauled by Alimkhanuly in rounds 5 through 8.

Mercifully, the fight was stopped in round 8. In reality, N’Dam’s corner should have stopped the contest much earlier. He never stood a chance against Alimkhanuly, and he may forever feel the effects of the damage he took against Alimkhanuly.

Alimkhanuly moves on and looks like he has a bright boxing future.
