Seth Rollins was attacked by a fan at WWE Raw from Barclays Center and, after the fact, the company issued a statement in response.
The Monday night after Survivor Series, WWE Raw was back in the same building for another show. And as was predictable, the Barclays Center crowd was rocking, as tends to be the case whenever the show comes to Brooklyn. However, there was a scary incident on the show.
Early on during Raw, Seth Rollins was out for a segment that saw him celebrate his triumph at Survivor Series before scrapping a bit with Finn Balor. As Rollins exited the ring and the arena, though, a fan jumped the rail and attacked him on the ramp heading backstage.
After the scary scene, WWE released a statement to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful about the Seth Rollins attack.
WWE issued Fightful the following statement when we asked for an update on the attack:

"WWE takes the safety of its performers very seriously. The individual who attacked Seth Rollins has been turned over to the NYPD and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
Seth Rollins attacked by fan on Raw: WWE issues statement
To be truthful, the company didn’t say anything all that groundbreaking about the incident, aside from the fact that the fan who attacked Seth Rollins will be prosecuted, which is to be expected.
Thankfully, security was there to step in and end the incident abruptly before the fan was, as the company said, turned over to NYPD. And from the look of things, it seemed that Rollins was okay after the tackle and attack, which is also a terrific outcome.
Still, whatever measures WWE can take to ensure this type of thing doesn’t happen in the first place and security doesn’t even need to be involved, the promotion should definitely do that. Simply, this type of thing is too dangerous to see happening.
