Super bantamweight boxing champions Stephen Fulton and Brandon Figueroa meet in a unification bout on Saturday, Nov. 27. Hear Fulton’s fight prediction.

WBO super bantamweight champion Stephen Futon and WBC titleholder Brandon Figueroa were supposed to fight in September, but COVID interfered. However, they’re set and ready to go on Showtime on Saturday, Nov. 27.

Figueroa (22-0-1, 17 KOs) tested positive for COVID before their original fight date, which caused it to be postponed. It’s something that Fulton is familiar with.

Fulton (19-0, 8 KOs) tested positive for COVID before his bout with Angelo Leo. Considering it once happened to him, Fulton couldn’t be angry with Figueroa.

“That’s part of the reason that I wasn’t so upset at the fact that I knew I’ve had it,” Fulton told FanSided. “So I can’t be upset at him for catching COVID.”

Knowing that it would be months before he shared the ring with Figueroa, Fulton did the only logical thing. He went out for donuts.

“Now, after the fact, you know, I just was, let’s go to Krispy Kreme, get some donuts, Wingstop get some chicken wings,” said the charismatic Fulton. “Let’s walk the strip. Let’s get something to drink. And we will get back to it when we get back home.”

At 27 years old, Fulton is in the prime of his career. He defeated Leo in January by unanimous decision and threw 1,183 punches, according to CompuBox. FanSided shared that fact with Fulton immediately after his victory.

Stephen Fulton isn’t shy about his plans for Brandon Figueroa on Nov. 27 on Showtime

Figueroa is only 24 years old and is coming off of his career-best performance as well. He lit up Luis Nery to score a round 7 KO in May. Figueroa is a brawling, volume puncher who likes to apply pressure.

Fulton is a chameleon in the ring that can adapt to any style. Figueroa may have a size and a slight youth advantage on his side, but Fulton thinks he’s missing something.

Fulton was critical of Figueroa’s defensive skills after his win over Nery. He thinks Figueroa has the stamina to go the distance with him but that his defensive liabilities will be the key factor in the fight.

“I don’t think he has the defense to [keep up].”

It’s that one missing component Fulton believes will empower him to a stoppage victory.

“I don’t think the fight goes 12 at all,” said Fulton. “I don’t really see the fight going 12. And I just need to be honest, I feel like I’m a different fighter this go around like I was last go around. Each year, each fight, I go through things that test me or have pushed me to a limit. And I can say I’ve been through that since I’ve been out here.”

When asked to clarify when he stops Figueroa, Fulton called his shot.

“I see it going like to nine,” declared Fulton. “Nine max.”

Fulton isn’t a knockout puncher on paper, but his ability to throw and land excessively could prove his forecast true. Expect Fulton vs. Figueroa to be a war. Coverage begins on Showtime at 10 p.m. ET.

Fulton gave an excellent reason to put stock into his prediction.

“Everything I’ve said leading up to my whole career has been coming true. And people don’t pay that no mind because some people may not be watching. The ones that do watch, and they probably see it just like, oh damn, it did. That’s true. But they don’t really get what I’m doing. I’ve been writing and planning out my whole career since I started. Everything I said I was gonna do, I’ve done it, and I continue to do it.”
