Marcus Stroman free agent rumors: What’s the latest?

Several teams are interested in signing Marcus Stroman this offseason, but will he end up returning to the New York Mets. 

Ahead of the MLB trade deadline in 2019, the New York Mets brought Marcus Stroman back home in a deal that really excited the fanbase. Now, it’s looking like the kid from Long Island could be getting ready to join a new team.

Stroman is indeed a free agent and there’s understandably plenty of teams ready to try and lure him over. So, where will the hard-throwing righty end up playing come next spring?

As you could have probably guessed, Stroman has been linked to several clubs. This includes the Mets, Cardinals, Astros, Mariners, Angels and others. With that said, Stroman also came out and said that he has no plans of inking with the other team in town, the New York Yankees.

Stroman isn’t a huge fan of Brian Cashman. This stems from two years ago when the Yankees general manager said that Stroman wasn’t yet a ‘difference maker’ and this clearly upset him. So, while the Yankees are hoping to land a stud free-agent starter this winter, it doesn’t look like Stroman will be their guy.

Cardinals fans are hitting up Stroman left and right on social media, while the same could be said for the Mariners and Angels. With Seattle, the team almost broke their postseason drought in 2021, but couldn’t get the job done during the last weekend of the regular season.

They’re expected to be big spenders leading up to the 2022 campaign. Signing Stroman to a mega-deal would sure send a message to the rest of the AL and all the fans who are tired of losing. Everyone is hoping Stroman makes his decision in the near future.
