Rece Davis has optimistic message for Oklahoma after new CFP rankings released
By Scott Rogust
ESPN college football host Rece Davis said that there is hope for the Oklahoma Sooners following the latest College Football Playoff rankings.
In the Week 13 edition of the College Football Playoff rankings, there were risers and sinkers. With the Oregon Ducks and Wake Forest Demon Deacons each losing their second games of the season, that allowed teams to climb. One of them was the Oklahoma Sooners, who jumped from No. 13 to No. 10.
ESPN college football host Rece Davis provided a message of optimism for the Sooners, saying that beating the Oklahoma State Cowboys twice could help them in the quality wins column.
Rece Davis provides hopeful message for Oklahoma Sooners
The Sooners are scheduled to take on the Cowboys this Saturday in the Bedlam Series rivalry game. Oklahoma State has already clinched a spot in the Big 12 championship game following their 23-0 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders. The Sooners can face the Cowboys in the conference title game, but only if they beat them.
Even if the Baylor Bears lose to Texas Tech, they will get in the conference championship over Oklahoma by way of a tiebreaker. Oklahoma lost to Baylor back on Nov. 13, their only defeat of the 2021 season.
Oklahoma has since rebounded by defeating the Iowa State Cyclones 28-21 this past weekend.
The goal is easy for the Sooners — defeat the Cowboys this weekend, and you have a chance to face them once again in the Big 12 championship. Two wins against the Cowboys this season could do wonders for the Sooners
