3. Despite good pass defense numbers, Denver struggles against Justin Herbert

If there is one aspect of the game Denver’s defense has thrived in, it is defending the pass. Yet, they have the unenviable task of stopping quarterback Justin Herbert.

After a down game against the Minnesota Viking, Herbert shined in primetime under the lights of SoFi Stadium. Facing the Steelers, Herbert threw for 382 yards and three touchdowns (30-of-41 on passes) and ran for 90 yards on nine carries. If you needed any further proof of how good Herbert is in just his second-year, look at his game-winning touchdown pass to Mike Williams.

The Broncos have the unenviable task of trying to contain Herbert, both through the air and on the run. Denver has allowed an average of 218.1 passing yards per game (ninth-fewest in NFL) and 110.1 rushing yards per game (14th-fewest).

Herbert picking up 400 yards of offense at the expense of Denver is something that very well could happen on Sunday.
