Former Alabama players were hyped after the Crimson Tide defeated the Auburn Tigers in the Iron Bowl after four overtimes.

For the better part of three quarters, it looked as though the Alabama Crimson Tide were destined to earn their second loss of the season at the hands of the rival Auburn Tigers. But a fourth quarter comeback, spurned on by a game-tying touchdown from quarterback Bryce Young to wide receiver Ja’Corey Brooks. Then, four overtimes later, the Crimson Tide walked out of Jordan-Hare Stadium with the 24-22 victory.

It as certainly a roller coaster of emotions for Crimson Tide fans and alum. Former players like running back Mark Ingram and defensive back Eddie Jackson shared their excitement after Alabama survived against Auburn.

The Crimson Tide did not get on the scoreboard until midway through the fourth quarter on a 30-yard field goal by Will Reichard to cut their deficit to 10-3. With two minutes remaining, it looked as though Auburn had clinched the victory with a fourth-and-one stop. But, they could only kill 25-seconds off the clock, due in part to running back Tank Bigsby falling out of bounds.

Even though Alabama started on their own three-yard line, Young marched down the field on 12 plays, and connected with Brooks with just 24-seconds remaining in regulation.

In the fourth overtime, Alabama forced an incomplete pass by Auburn signal caller T.J. Finley to keep the score tied at 22 points apiece. Then, Young hit John Metchie III on the two-point conversion to secure the win.

Alabama players, current and former, will be celebrating this win. But, they have a huge game next week, as they take on the undefeated Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC title game. A victory by the Crimson Tide will help them clinch a playoff spot, but a loss will leave their fate up in the air.
