Sean Taylor’s brother Gabe seals Rice win with INT on anniversary of Sean’s death

Gabe Taylor, younger brother of former Miami Hurricanes and Washington Football Team star Sean Taylor, sealed a win for the Rice Owls on the anniversary of his brother’s death.

A late interception that secured a win for the Rice Owls might have a pretty special meaning for the defensive back who was on the receiving end of that throw.

Gabe Taylor was able to end Rice’s game against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs by snagging an interception late in the fourth quarter, giving the Owls a 35-31 win to end the season on a high note. But the interception alone and the way it impacted the game aren’t all that make this event so special.

Taylor grabbed that interception and gave his team a win on the anniversary of his brother Sean Taylor‘s death.

Ending the game as a hero on today of all days? There’s no way that doesn’t matter to the freshman defensive back.

It’s been a rough year for Rice as the Owls entered into their game against Louisiana Tech with a 3-8 record. The Owls aren’t exactly known for being a football powerhouse, but still, losses always suck and wins are always fun.

Winning like this, in this sort of way, on this particular day, is special though. This is an emotional and extraordinary moment for Taylor, his family, and his teammates. Is there any better way to lock up a win than this?
