Week 14 tied up the myriad lose ends in the Power Five. For some teams, the season is mercifully over. For others it’s over just as they were hitting their stride. Here is the Week 14 AP Poll.

At the start of the day Friday, only two of the Power Five conference championship games — the Pac 12 and the SEC —  were set. In the ACC, Clemson and NC State had shots to pass Atlantic champion Wake Forest. In the Big Ten, it came down to either Michigan or Ohio State and Iowa or Wisconsin. The Big 12 was a three team race to the title game between Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Baylor. Now we know.

There is a lot to be said about what happened yesterday, but nothing was bigger than the boulder-sized weights shed by Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines and Mike Gundy’s Cowboys.

Michigan mauled an Ohio State team that had hit its stride on both sides of the ball in Harbaugh’s first win against the Buckeyes. Then in the night game, the Cowboy’s put Oklahoma out of its misery. The Sooners just couldn’t put it together this year. Maybe in 2022 they’ll have a shot at returning to the Playoff.

Despite the CFP Committee being down on Oklahoma, that Cowboy’s win should be enough to make the Bearcats sweat. If Oklahoma State and Alabama both win their conferences, there’s a good chance the Bearcats are out.

Boy, how about the bounce-backs from Clemson and Iowa. Both teams looked like they were done, but both leaned heavily on their defenses down the stretch and overcame some poor quarterback play to secure their spots in the AP Poll.
