5-star wide receiver Brandon Inniss has reopened his recruitment after Lincoln Riley left Oklahoma for USC.
The fallout from Lincoln Riley’s swift departure from Oklahoma to USC continues, as 2023 5-star wide receiver Brandon Inniss announced on Twitter he is decommitting from the Sooners program.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Inniss is the No. 1 wide receiver in the country, the No. 2 player from Florida and the No. 9 overall prospect in the 2023 recruiting cycle. Inniss initially committed to Oklahoma back in August. He unofficially visited Norman in late October. With 36 formal offers, the Fort Lauderdale native has more time to figure out what college he will attend.
Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia and LSU are some of the schools that have offered the talented wide receiver a full-ride scholarship thus far.

5-star WR Brandon Inniss decommits from Oklahoma after Lincoln Riley left
Since Inniss is only a junior at American Heritage, he does not have to make a decision as to where to commit right this instant. It serves him to wait out the silly season before figuring out what school is best for him.
Inniss was later joined by four-star running back Treyaun Webb announcing he too is decommitting from Oklahoma.

Webb is the No. 5 running back in the country, the No. 20 player from Florida and the No. 96 player nationally in the class of 2023. He has 44 official offers, including many of the programs Inniss has scholarships from.
Ultimately, anytime a top-tier coach leaves a program, recruiting will suffer. The sooner the Sooners find Riley’s long-term replacement, the quicker they can salvage their 2022 recruiting class and put in the necessary good work to win on the recruiting trails in 2023. Unfortunately, the damage is done and it will take a few years before Oklahoma is back to what it was under Riley.
As far as USC is concerned, getting a scholarship from the Trojans is even more precious now.
Update: Another 5-star, 2023 recruit Malachi Nelson, has also decommitted from OU.
2023 five-star quarterback Malachi Nelson from Los Alamitos, Calif. has decommitted from Oklahoma following the news that Lincoln Riley left for USC.

Nelson is the No. 2 quarterback and overall player in the 2023 class and, according to reports, Riley has already talked to the California native about USC.
