Why are the Colts helmets missing the horseshoe logo this week?
The Indianapolis Colts are donning some pretty sweet throwback helmets from 1956 going up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
One of the more intriguing matchups of the weekend is no doubt the showdown between the Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Even leading up to the opening kickoff, though, the Colts were stealing the show thanks to their uniforms. Better yet, their helmets.
For the Sunday tilt, Indy is rocking throwback helmets from the 1956 season. Fans have noticed that the classic horseshoe logo is missing, but again, this is because of the team honoring the ’56 team for this matchup.
Colts helmets are taking over Twitter on Sunday
For folks who didn’t know Indy was going to turn back the clock with their helmets, they feel like the players are showcasing a bit more swag in this case. Matter of fact, there have been some great reactions on Twitter, with the team hoping to stun Tom Brady and Co. in this one.

Entering this one, the Bucs are 7-3 on the season, while the Colts are 6-5. Indy entered this one with plenty of confidence too, as the team absolutely dominated the Buffalo Bills last week in a 41-15 win. In that showdown, Jonathan Taylor rushed for four touchdowns and added a receiving score as well.
Now, the Colts will be ready to silence Brady and record back-to-back impressive victories. Should they get that job done, they’ll be doing so in style with these helmets they’re donning.
