San Francisco 49ers cornerback Josh Norman appeared to punch Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen during Sunday’s game.

Sunday’s game between the San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings had its fair share of events. From Dalvin Cook being carted off the field with a shoulder injury, to Kirk Cousins lining up under his guard. But there was a member of the 49ers who caught the attention of social media users for his actions in the game.

During the second half, 49ers cornerback Josh Norman appeared to have two-hand punched Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen in the back while he was down on the ground.

The incident occurred in the fourth quarter, where Norman forced a fumble on Vikings tight end Tyler Conklin. That was when Norman appeared to have taken a shot at Thielen. Despite two referees standing right near the pileup, no penalty was assessed.

Minnesota attempted to score a touchdown to potentially tie the game. But, the 49ers forced the turnover on downs after quarterback Kirk Cousins threw an incomplete pass to wide receiver Justin Jefferson on fourth-and-three.

Entering this game, Norman had logged 32 combined tackles, five forced fumbles, four passes defensed and one interception. In coverage, Norman surrendered 21 catches for 257 yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries, per Pro Football Reference.

The 49ers exited Levi’s Stadium with the 34-26 victory, extending their winning streak to three games.
