5 transfer destinations for Auburn legacy QB Bo Nix
By John Buhler
It would be an absolute bombshell if quarterback Bo Nix actually transferred from Auburn.
At 6-6 on the year and dealing with a broken ankle, Auburn legacy quarterback Bo Nix is not ruling out transferring from the program after he graduates in a few weeks.
Nix had big shoes to fill playing the same position at his father Patrick’s alma mater. While it has not been smooth sailing for Nix down on The Plains, he has done more good than bad in his three years at Auburn. With Bryan Harsin entering his second season as the Auburn head coach, it might be the time for Nix to leave his beloved alma mater and go play for another program as a senior.
Nix has prioritized getting to the NFL above all else in what will be his final college football season.

The Auburn connection could make some sense with Rhett Lashlee at SMU
Though he did not recruit him to Auburn, new SMU head coach Rhett Lashlee first came into prominence as a coach on the Tigers staff. Lashlee is the primary offensive coordinator associated with the Gus Malzahn era of Auburn football. Though SMU is a Group of Five school, the Mustangs have been one of the better teams in The American for the last half decade or so over in Dallas.
Gus Malzahn may welcome a familiar face during his second season at UCF
Nix’s head coach during his first two years at Auburn was Malzahn. While he quickly resurfaced as the next head coach at UCF replacing Josh Heupel, things did not go swimmingly in Malzahn’s first year in Orlando. With longtime Knights starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel transferring, that may open up a pathway for Nix to reunite with his former Auburn head coach to go win The American.
Though either of these schools in the AAC would work for Nix, he will want to raise his draft stock.
