Top 30 duos in NFL history
18. Drew Brees and Marques Coltson
Drew Brees sent everybody who ever caught a touchdown pass from him a personalized ball when he broke the all-time touchdown record. The man who he threw the most touchdowns to was Marques Colston.
Brees and Colston came to New Orleans together. Brees signed with the team as a free agent, and Colston was a seventh round pick out of Hofstra who just needed a chance. The quarterback and wide receiver had instant chemistry. In 2006, Colston caught 70 passes for over 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns as the Saints rode a magic carpet to the NFC Championship Game.
The next season, Colston had 98 receptions for 1,202 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Saints took a step back that season, but it was clear they had a quarterback and receiver who were going to help lead them to the promised land.
In 2009, the Saints won the Super Bowl. Colston and Brees connected 70 times in the regular season for nine touchdowns. Somehow, Colston was never selected to a Pro Bowl. In spite of that, he and Brees helped rebuild a city that needed love- in a lot of ways, they did, too.
