Our 2021 FanSided NFL quarterback rankings go live each Tuesday morning throughout the regular season, and we use a sliding scale incorporating current and past performances, with the former meaning more as the year goes on.

Zach Wilson. player. QB. Pick Analysis. New York Jets. 32. 30. Scouting Report

2021 stats: 1,313 yards | 57.6 comp % | 4 TD | 10 INT | 6.4 YPA | 23.4 QBR

LW: NA

The Jets finally won a game, but Wilson continues to look completely lost.

Pick Analysis. QB. New Orleans Saints. Trevor Siemian. 31. player. Scouting Report. 15

2021 stats: 1,083 yards | 57.2 comp % | 9 TD | 3 INT | 6.3 YPA | 32.5 QBR

LW: 28

Siemian and the Saints have no ability to move the ball. Been really rough.

50. Scouting Report. Detroit Lions. Jared Goff. 30. Pick Analysis. QB. player

2021 stats: 2,280 yards | 67.3 comp % | 10 TD | 6 INT | 6.4 YPA | 29.3 QBR

LW: NA

Let’s just move on.

Cam Newton. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Carolina Panthers. 29. player. 87. QB

2021 stats: 289 yards | 55.8 comp % | 3 TD | 2 INT | 5.6 YPA | 35.2 QBR

LW: 24

Newton has enjoyed a wonderful career highlighted by a 2015 MVP, but it’s time for the rocking chair.

Pick Analysis. QB. Andy Dalton. 28. Scouting Report. Chicago Bears. player. 57

2021 stats: 788 yards | 64.3 comp % | 4 TD | 2 INT | 7.0 YPA | 52.9 QBR

LW: NA

Dalton is the better quarterback compared to Justin Fields, but if the Bears had any sense (they don’t), they’d give the young kid a chance to grow.

Scouting Report. QB. Arizona Cardinals. 27. player. Pick Analysis. Colt McCoy. 32

2021 stats: 684 yards | 75.6 comp % | 3 TD | 1 INT | 7.6 YPA | 53.5 QBR

LW: 28

Does McCoy get another start after the bye? Probably not, but he did an admirable job.

52. Scouting Report. QB. Jacksonville Jaguars. player. Pick Analysis. Trevor Lawrence. 26

2021 stats: 2,369 yards | 58.0 comp % | 9 TD | 10 INT | 6.0 YPA | 33.8 QBR

LW: 26

Jacksonville had done its prized possession no favors, but Lawrence has also struggled on his own accord. A long season.

55. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Pittsburgh Steelers. QB. Ben Roethlisberger. 25. player

2021 stats: 2,522 yards | 64.6 comp % | 14 TD | 6 INT | 6.6 YPA | 43.1 QBR

LW: 25

Roethlisberger is absolutely, unequivocally finished. After this year, the Steelers must quickly move on.

player. Houston Texans. Tyrod Taylor. 24. QB. 10. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

2021 stats: 921 yards | 62.8 comp % | 5 TD | 4 INT | 6.7 YPA | 46.7 QBR

LW: 27

If Taylor was on a team that could block, catch or run a decent offensive scheme, he could still win some games. Unfortunately, he’s on Houston.

New York Giants. Daniel Jones. Scouting Report. QB. 23. player. 31. Pick Analysis

2021 stats: 2,428 yards | 64.3 comp % | 10 TD | 7 INT | 6.7 YPA | 40.9 QBR

LW: 23

Jones continues to manage games without making crippling mistakes, but the Giants are completely devoid of big plays.

player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Cleveland Browns. Baker Mayfield. 22. 53. QB

2021 stats: 2,413 yards | 62.2 comp % | 11 TD | 6 INT | 7.7 YPA | 37.9 QBR

LW: 20

Mayfield is hurt, fine. If he can’t play better than this — and his receivers are no help whatsoever — then it’s time to sit him down. Cleveland has no offense.

Miami Dolphins. Tua Tagovailoa. 21. player. Pick Analysis. QB. 59. Scouting Report

2021 stats: 1,701 yards | 70.5 comp % | 10 TD | 6 INT | 7.3 YPA | 57.6 QBR

LW: 22

Tagovailoa only had four incompletions in a demolition of the Panthers. Give Tagovailoa and the Dolphins credit for making a run.

20. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB. 45. Denver Broncos. Teddy Bridgewater

2021 stats: 2,518 yards | 68.7 comp % | 15 TD | 5 INT | 7.4 YPA | 50.0 QBR

LW: 19

Bridgewater does enough to win, but Sunday was largely about the Denver defense rising up.

Jalen Hurts. 19. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB. Philadelphia Eagles. 54

2021 stats: 2,435 yards | 60.1 comp % | 13 TD | 8 INT | 6.9 YPA | 47.9 QBR

LW: 16

Hurts had his worst performance at the pro level on Sunday with three interceptions in a 13-7 loss. Brutal defeat for Philadelphia.

QB. Washington Football Team. 18. player. 58. Scouting Report. Taylor Heinicke. Pick Analysis

2021 stats: 2,613 yards | 66.2 comp % | 16 TD | 10 INT | 7.3 YPA | 48.4 QBR

LW: 21

Heinicke isn’t doing any special. He’s managing the game with a limited offense, but he’s avoiding the mistake which got him in trouble earlier this year.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB. Matt Ryan. 17. player. Atlanta Falcons. 44

2021 stats: 2,617 yards | 67.5 comp % | 16 TD | 11 INT | 6.9 YPA | 50.4 QBR

LW: 17

Ryan has zero help around him, and he’s struggling to generate much of anything for Atlanta.

16. player. 35. Pick Analysis. QB. Tennessee Titans. Ryan Tannehill. Scouting Report

2021 stats: 2,774 yards | 65.8 comp % | 14 TD | 13 INT | 7.1 YPA | 53.3 QBR

LW: 15

Tannehill is dealing with a crush of injuries and the result is a neutered offense and a quarterback who isn’t equipped to carry the load.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. San Francisco 49ers. 15. QB. Jimmy Garoppolo. player. 42

2021 stats: 2,342 yards | 66.8 comp % | 13 TD | 6 INT | 8.4 YPA | 58.5 QBR

LW: 18

Garoppolo has the Niners humming along, letting the rushing attack lead the way. It’s a good rhythm right now.

36. Scouting Report. Russell Wilson. 14. player. Pick Analysis. QB. Seattle Seahawks

2021 stats: 1,811 yards | 64.9 comp % | 12 TD | 3 INT | 8.2 YPA | 45.6 QBR

LW: 12

Wilson is suffering a staggering drop. The Seahawks are atrocious, and Wilson has been right there with them. Making almost no plays.

Carson Wentz. 46. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB. Indianapolis Colts. 13. player

2021 stats: 2,790 yards | 62.8 comp % | 21 TD | 5 INT | 7.0 YPA | 56.7 QBR

LW: 14

Wentz played really well for three quarters but couldn’t finish against the Buccaneers. In fairness, Wentz has bad moments, but he’s really bounced back in 2021.

12. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB. Mac Jones. 47. New England Patriots

2021 stats: 2,850 yards | 70.3 comp % | 16 TD | 8 INT | 7.5 YPA | 52.6 QBR

LW: 13

Jones continues to dazzle. The box score was more impressive than the actual tape — although the first touchdown to Kendrick Bourne was awesome — but he’s efficient, smart and evolving.

Cincinnati Bengals. 56. Pick Analysis. 11. player. Scouting Report. QB. Joe Burrow

2021 stats: 2,835 yards | 69.3 comp % | 22 TD | 12 INT | 8.4 YPA | 51.2 QBR

LW: 11

You see 41 points and think huge game for Burrow, but he really played point guard while allowing the defense and Joe Mixon to do most of the work. A great day for Cincinnati.

Pick Analysis. QB. Minnesota Vikings. Scouting Report. Kirk Cousins. 10. player. 60

2021 stats: 3,013 yards | 67.7 comp % | 23 TD | 3 INT | 7.4 YPA | 57.0 QBR

LW: 9

Cousins puts up numbers, and the Vikings certainly didn’t lose to the Niners because of him. But at some point, it matters that his stats never translate into big wins.

Lamar Jackson. 9. player. 26. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB. Baltimore Ravens

2021 stats: 2,612 yards | 64.2 comp % | 15 TD | 12 INT | 7.7 YPA | 51.0 QBR

LW: 7

Jackson was rancid on Sunday, throwing four interceptions in what somehow ended up a 16-10 win. The Ravens need him to be so much better as the schedule gets tougher.

Derek Carr. 28. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB. Las Vegas Raiders. 8. player

2021 stats: 3,414 yards | 67.3 comp % | 17 TD | 9 INT | 8.3 YPA | 57.2 QBR

LW: 10

Carr was fantastic on Thanksgiving against the Cowboys in the Raiders’ overtime win. Now, at 6-6, Las Vegas needs him to steer the franchise towards the postseason.

player. Buffalo Bills. Josh Allen. QB. 7. 16. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

2021 stats: 3,071 yards | 66.8 comp % | 25 TD | 10 INT | 7.5 YPA | 60.6 QBR

LW: 8

Allen faces a critical two-week stretch, with the Bills hosting the Patriots before visiting the Buccaneers only six days later. Buffalo needs him to be in MVP form.

Justin Herbert. Pick Analysis. Los Angeles Chargers. 6. player. 13. Scouting Report. QB

2021 stats: 3,230 yards | 66.0 comp % | 24 TD | 10 INT | 7.4 YPA | 65.8 QBR

LW: 5

Herbert has been held back significantly by offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi’s scheme. Still, he’s  alternating between playing at an elite level and making too many poor decisions, leading to turnovers.

Scouting Report. Dak Prescott. 123. Pick Analysis. QB. Dallas Cowboys. 5. player

2021 stats: 2,932 yards | 69.4 comp % | 22 TD | 7 INT | 7.8 YPA | 50.7 QBR

LW: 6

Prescott was terrific down the stretch against the Raiders, but it wasn’t enough. After losing three of their last four, the Cowboys need Prescott to elevate as they get CeeDee Lamb back.

Matthew Stafford. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Los Angeles Rams. QB. 4. 51

2021 stats: 3,315 yards | 66.5 comp % | 27 TD | 9 INT | 8.3 YPA | 65.8 QBR

LW: 2

Stafford is apparently playing hurt, and things aren’t going well. The Rams haven’t won in a month and Stafford has been throwing interceptions. Have to turn it around.

QB. 3. Scouting Report. Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes. player. 124. Pick Analysis

2021 stats: 3,200 yards | 65.5 comp % | 25 TD | 11 INT | 7.1 YPA | 57.3 QBR

LW: 4

Mahomes has quietly moved up the rankings, as he’s done in the MVP conversation. The Chiefs are 7-4 and their quarterback has a chance to get more acclaim on Sunday night this week.

QB. player. Green Bay Packers. Aaron Rodgers. 2. 49. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

2021 stats: 2,878 yards | 66.2 comp % | 23 TD | 4 INT | 7.7 YPA | 64.9 QBR

LW: 3

Rodgers isn’t putting up enormous numbers, but he’s playing with elite vision, accuracy and control of the game. Just beautiful football to watch.

Scouting Report. Tampa Bay Buccaneers. player. 48. Pick Analysis. QB. Tom Brady. 1

2021 stats: 3,417 yards | 67.6 comp % | 30 TD | 9 INT | 7.4 YPA | 63.6 QBR

LW: 1

Brady continues to handle business. Despite a slow start against the Colts, he rallied over the last three quarters, helping the Bucs score 38 points in a stirring victory. Leading the league with 30 touchdowns.
