Dallas Cowboys: Eddie George

It was an odd sight seeing the great Titans running back Eddie George finish his career with the Dallas Cowboys. George was coming off a 2003 season in which he ran for over 1,000 yards, but by no means was he dominant. The Ohio State legend averaged just 3.3 yards per carry that season, and it seemed like his time in the NFL was close to ending.

Instead of retiring with the team that drafted him, though, George decided to go to Dallas and signed a one year deal for $1.5 million. The contract was also packed with incentives that could have earned George even more money, as well.

The signing turned out to be a disaster. George tallied just 432 yards on the ground and four touchdowns while averaging just 33.2 yards per game. He would go on to retire after the 2004 season, which is a tough pill to swallow because he could have ended his career on somewhat of a high note with the Titans. Instead, he had the worst year of his career after leaving a city he never should have left. The less said about “Dallas Cowboys running back Eddie George,” the better.
