Oklahoma Sooners defensive lineman Isaiah Thomas shared his thoughts about a line Lincoln Riley used at his USC introductory press conference.

The first coaching carousel domino to fall was Lincoln Riley leaving the Oklahoma Sooners football program to become the head coach of the USC Trojans. The news arrived less than 24 hours after the Sooners lost to the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the Bedlam Series on Saturday.

During his introductory press conference, Riley said that his promise is that USC “is going to be the mecca of college football. The quote was included in a post by USC football’s official Instagram account, and Sooners defensive lineman Isaiah Thomas commented, saying that RIley told the team that exact line last week.

It was truly an insane series of events following the conclusion of rivalry week.

After the 37-33 loss to Oklahoma State, Riley said in a press conference that he was not leaving the program to take the LSU Tigers head coaching job. Yet, less than a day later, news broke that Riley was leaving to Los Angeles to become the new head coach at USC.

Shortly after that, some Sooners players announced they were entering the transfer portal. One Oklahoma recruit who decommitted, five-star quarterback Malachi Nelson, announced that he has committed to playing for Riley at USC on Tuesday.

Now, all eyes are on the Sooners to see who they can get to replace Riley as head coach. Bob Stoops is currently stepping in on an interim basis.

If you thought the fallout of Riley leaving Oklahoma was crazy, just wait until the full fallout of Brian Kelly leaving Notre Dame to replace Ed Orgeron at LSU.
