Michigan football will honor Oxford shooting victims on jerseys
The patch is beautifully done in honoring the victims of the senseless tragedy in Oxford, particularly with the details and what they represent.
To begin with, the patch is in the shape of Oxford’s “Block O” logo. The TM and 42 on the patch is in honor of Tate Myre, a 16-year-old star football player at Oxford who lost his life trying to disarm the shooter inside the school after he opened fire. Additionally, the four blue hearts on the patch represent the four victims — Myre, Justin Shilling, Hana St. Juliana and Madisyn Baldwin — who lost their lives in the tragedy.
It’s incredibly sad that nothing can bring back the four students who lost their lives. In the wake of the tragedy, though, it has to be incredibly meaningful that Michigan football is boldly standing with the communities in Oxford and the state at large by honoring and showing their support of the victims.
