5 bold predictions for Raiders against Washington Football Team
By John Buhler
3. Derek Carr throws for over 300 yards on the Washington defense
Anybody who follows the Raiders knows about this most sacred and important number when it comes to Derek Carr slinging the pigskin. When he throws for over 300 yards, the Silver and Black can raise the Jolly Roger. If he does not, then it is a sad Sunday or Monday for Raider Nation. So what will it be for the Raiders’ franchise quarterback? Is he throwing for 300 yards or is he not?
Washington is a pretty good test for Carr and the Raiders passing game. Their opposition is well coached on that end of the field. Ron Rivera is a defensive-minded head coach and guess who is Washington’s defensive coordinator? Former Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio, the guy who was fired two years after leading them to the playoffs for a TV personality turned persona non grata.
So yes, moving the sticks on the Washington defense will not be easy, but Carr and the boys will find a way to get it done. It will help with Hunter Renfrow being a total mismatch in the middle of the field. With DeSean Jackson’s ability to break one over the top and Darren Waller being a top five tight end, Carr has a great opportunity to keep the 300-yard streak alive, one way or another.
Look for Carr to throw for around 310 yards on the Washington defense to keep the streak going.
